EPCG is restocking Slansko lake

As socially responsible company, with the goal of maintaining and enriching fish fond in artificial accumulations, EPCG has restocked Slansko lake with 1200 kg of fish.

Accumulations “Krupac”, “Slansko” and retenzion “Vrtac” belong to HPP “Perucica”, the oldest big HPP in Montenegro, which for the production of electricity uses water from upper river Zeta, water which is flowing in Niksic field with favorable fall in short distance between Niksic field and Bjelopavlici plains.

EPCG is well aware of importance of maintaining fish fund in artificial accumulations, created mainly for the needs of producing electricity in HPP “Perucica”. In that sense, EPCG always invested in restocking the fish fund, and last year 1350 kg of Californian trout was inserted in lake “Krupac”. Accumulations are well known tourist spots, favorites for sports fishermen, and places where many tourist and culture events are organized.

“In that way, as a socially responsible company, we wish to contribute to the community and express our determination to take care about ecology. Today Slansko lake was restocked with 6000 pieces of Californian trout, whose size varies from 200-250 grams”, said director of Directorate for Public Relations, Rajko Sebek. Sebek announced that in the next week Pivsko lake will also be restocked.

 

Nikola Milic, president of sport-fishing society “Niksic” thanked EPCG for the donation. He also announced that fishing ban will last until 29th June, and that they will alongside Ministry of Internal Affairs take care that the deadline is respected.

Fish was acquired from the company “Ribnjak” from Niksic, and restocking was done with the presence of members of joint Commission made of representatives of Ministry of Agriculture, sport-fishing society “Niksic” and EPCG.

Dragoje Medjedovic, agriculture inspector for freshwater fishing stated that restocking was done in the best possible way.
