TENDER ANNOUNCED FOR PROCUREMENT OF PHOTOVOLTAIC (SOLAR) SYSTEMS FOR THE PROJECT SOLARI 3000+ AND SOLARI 500+

Elektroprivreda Crne Gore announced the Tender for procurement and delivery of equipment and material for the realization of the project „Solari 3000+“ for households and „Solari 500+“ for individuals and legal entities up to 30kW. Tender worth 19.900.000 Euro will be opened till October 25, and in four lots there should be procured: monocrystalline photovoltaic modules, inverters and three-phase smart meters, substructure of the photovoltaic system and energy infrastructure and protection equipment.

Project Solari 3000+ and Solari 500+ represents the beginning of the energy transition in Montenegro and one of the most important investments in energy branch in the last 40 years. The aim of the project is to reduce CO2 emissions to a minimum and preserve the environment through the energy transition.

This project will enable 3.000 households living in the individual family buildings to get the installations of photovoltaic or solar panels and instead of consumers and buyers become producers and sellers of electricity. Also, the investment will enable 500 legal entities, i.e. small generation plants and public institutions to apply in order to participate in this project.

This project will focus the electricity production to renewable sources, and it will enable citizens to produce the renewable sources energy without carbon dioxide emissions.

“Citizens will be in opportunity to produce electricity for their own needs and eventually, to sell energy surplus to Elektroprivreda. This means that, except the solar panels loan repayment, they will not have the cost of electricity, since they will produce it by themselves, and the installment amount will be almost similar to the average electricity bill amount. Therefore, when citizens repay their equipment, where the anticipated repayment period is from 6 to 8 years, they get the free electricity”, the Chairman of the Board, Milutin Đukanović emphasized.

EKO Fund will have the important role in the realization of this project, which will use the funds paid by EPCG to subsidize users with 20 percent of the installation value.

Citizens applying for this project gain the numerous benefits: they produce the electricity by themselves that decrease the electricity bills for a long period of time, decreased market value of photovoltaic system due to EKO Fund equipment subsidy up to 20 percent, the loan installment for the solar system is close to the average bill decreased for 20 percent subsidy, consuming of a renewable energy source that does not generate harmful substances and environment pollution, thus providing a healthier and cleaner environment, where EPCG will provide logistical support in the further implementation of the project with the delivery and installation of equipment.

Eight interested institutions have applied to the International public Tender for funding the project “Solari 3000+” and “Solari 500+”, announced by Elektroprivreda Crne Gore on August 2, and the selection of a financial partner is underway. Within the shortest term, there will be announced also the Public Tender for citizens to apply for participation in the SOLARI project.

Complete implementation of the Project “Solari 3000+” and “Solari 500+” has been led by the Commission for investments in energy sector consisting of representatives of EPCG, EKO Fund, Ministry of ecology, spatial planning and urbanism, Municipality of Nikšić, Ministry of capital investments, Ministry of finance, CEDIS, Directorate for Real Estates and CGES, headed by the Chairman of EPCG Board of Directors, Milutin Đukanović.
