‘SHARE THE BURDEN' CAMPAIGN FOR THE NINTH TIME

Elektroprivreda Crne Gore has initiated the ninth cycle of the campaign 'Share the Burden', targeted at all customers included in the 'Households' consumption group who owe for electricity consumption. The 'Share the Burden 9' starts on September 1 and it will last until November 30. During this time all the households whose Electricity Debt Settlement Agreement pertaining to the 'Share the Burden 7' campaign expires as well as all the new households that want to join the campaign can settle their liabilities under exceptionally favourable conditions.

Given a very difficult situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and concerning the ninth cycle of the 'SHARE THE BURDEN' campaign, the condition to be met in order for the customer to be connected to the grid prescribes that the amount of payments made in the preceding month, the date of conclusion of the Electricity Debt Settlement Agreement under Favourable Conditions inclusive, is either equal to or higher than the amount of the last electricity bill, the currency term of which expired. Therefore, customers included in the 'Households' consumption group can join the campaign during September, providing they meet the necessary condition prescribing that the amount of payments made in August until the conclusion of the Agreement is either equal to or higher than the last electricity bill (July bill) and that they settle their August bill by the end of September.

As regards October, it is necessary that the amount of payments made in September until the conclusion of the Agreement be either equal to or higher than the August bill and that the September bill is settled by the end of October. Regarding November, it is necessary that the amount of payments made in October until the conclusion of the Agreement is either equal to or higher than the September bill and that the October bill is settled by the end of November.

Those households that join the 'Share the Burden 9' campaign will be entitled to numerous benefits:

  • repayment of a previous debt in fixed monthly instalments of €20 each
  • exemption from a compulsory debt settlement while complying with the Agreement,
  • suspension of a default interest calculation.

The maximum number of the Agreement instalments is twenty-two. If the amount of debt is less that €440, the number of instalments is determined in a way that the amount of debt is divided by €20 (for ex. the debt amount of €320 is settled by the customer in 16 fixed monthly instalments of €20 each).

Furthermore, all electricity buyers disconnected from the grid are entitled to join the campaign, given that, in addition to the already mentioned necessary conditions, they must also settle costs of connection to the grid.

Customers who already signed the standard Debt Settlement Agreement may reschedule it under this model, on condition that they settle on a regular basis their electricity-related liabilities under the present Agreement.
