OBLIGATION TO CHANGE OWNERSHIP OVER ELECTRICITY METERS REGISTERED TO DECEASED PERSONS

Elektroprivreda Crne Gore informs all users of electricity meters, whose ownership is registered to deceased persons, to submit the Request for a change of the name - the title of the Buyer in the next 10 days and conclude a Agreement on supply.

This obligation is prescribed by Article 206 of the Law on energy and Article 23 of the General Conditions for Electricity supply, that defines that heirs are obliged to notify the Supplier in writting within 90 days from the date of death of the individual and submit a request  for the change of the name – the title of the electricity Buyer.

Namely, EPCG was informed by the competent institutions that a certain number of electricity meters are still registered on deceased persons, which is not in accordance with the stated legal requirements.

Electricity users are warned that if they do not submit a Request for changing the name – the title of the Buyer and do not conclude an Agreement on supply within the specified period, Elektroprivreda will switch off the metering points.

The list of these Buyers is published on the Company's website www.epcg.com,the e-government portal and on the notice boards of the local Supply units in the cities where the electricity meter owners are registered.
