MALJEVAC LANDFILL IS UNDER CONTROL, DESPITE STRONG WIND

The municipality of Pljevlja has been exposed today to adverse weather conditions, thus causing various problems, starting with breaking of trees in the centre of town to raising a lot of dust, what has angered citizens for a reason.

Via social networks, those who live outside Pljevlja could also see the footage made in this municipality.

We hereby inform Pljevlja citizens that EPCG, i.e. TPP Pljevlja controls the situation at Maljevac ash and slag landfill, being well aware of its importance for Montenegro’s economy and its committment to act, always and without exception, in accordance with corporate social responsibility, all the more so as dust which has come up today does not originate from this site.

Having visited the site, we identified that the mentioned area is covered with a water layer, i.e. the so-called 'water mirror'. Reclamation of Casette II was finished earlier, as part of the 'Industrial Waste Management and Clean-up Project', implemented through the Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism and the Environmental Protection Agency in its capacity of the implementation unit. All of the above testifies that, also in this regard, our employees and the equipment they have are permanently ready to be engaged.

We continue to monitor the situation in Pljevlja, determined to persevere in our intention to control the landfill, given our responsibility for the maintenance thereof, so that, even with such severe weather conditions, it does not additionally damage the environment.
