H.E. AMBASSADOR OF FR GERMANY AND KfW DELEGATION VISITED HPP “PERUĆICA“

On Thursday , April 28, 2022, Representatives of German Development Bank (KfW), together with His Exselency Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany in Montenegro, Ph.D. Robert Weber, visited HPP „Perućica“, in order to see on the spot the dynamics of the works  being carried out in cooperation with this financial institution.

KfW delegation, apart the Director of Depatment for Southeaast Europe and Turkey (Ph.D. Klaus-Martin Müller), consisted of the Head of KfW Office in Podgorica (Željko Uljarević), and Coordinator of KfW Office in Podgorica for Energy and Transport (Ana Brailo).  In the name of the host, the guests were welcomed by EPCG CEO (Nikola Rovčanin) , Executive Manager of FU Generation (Bojan Đordan) and Head of HPP “Perućica” branch (Radovan Đukanović).

We will remind you of the fact that the successful cooperation between EPCG and KfW Bank lasts for years, so the first phase of reconstruction and modernization of HPP was performed in the period from 2005 to 2009, after which the first four units received new controlling, new regulation, protection and new SCADA power plant system. Also, in cooperation with KfW Bank, works on modernization and reconstruction of HPP “Piva” are being carried out, in the amount of EUR 10.3 million. Two generators in that plant have been already completed, and the works on the third generator are expected to be completed during this year, thereby the subject investment would be fully realized.

When it comes to current works in HPP “Perućica”, in 2019, Agreement on financing worth EUR 33 million was signed between EPCG and KfW bank, which covers the second phase of reconstruction and modernization of units U5, U6 and U7, and in front of us is the project of U8 unit installation, with a capacity of 58.5 MW, whose total value would amount to EUR 23 million, which would, without any negative impact on the environment, increase the installed capacity and total power plant production.

Mutual satisfaction with the so far cooperation and the dynamics of activities on the preparation of project documentation and execution of works was emphasized, with the expectation that the productive cooperation between EPCG and KfW will continue when it comes to future projects.
