CONTINUATION OF THE SUCCESSFUL COOPERATION BETWEEN GERMAN DEVELOPMENT BANK KFW AND ELEKTROPRIVREDA CRNE GORE

KfW bank was represented by Mrs. Lydia Glock, portfolio manager for Montenegro, Mr. Sven Hartmann and Mr. Oscar Gonzalez, technical experts, Mr.  Željko Uljarević, head of local KfW office and Mrs. Ana Brailo- Batrićević, energy coordinator.

Elektroprivreda Crne Gore was represented by Mr. Nikola Rovčanin, Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Miro Vračar, Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Ivan Mrvaljević, Executive Officer of Directorate for Development, Mr. Boško Božović and Mr. Slobodan Banović, project managers in the Directorate for Development with associates.

It was stated that the previous cooperation between the German Development Bank and Elektroprivreda Crne Gore was successful, the continuation of which was also agreed upon.

By way of reminder, KfW bank and EPCG are long-term partners on implementation of a number of EPCG big projects.

In 2017, Elektroprivreda Crne Gore initiated implementation of II Phase of Reconstruction and Modernization of HPP Piva. The planned scope of the project implies reconstruction and modernization of hydro-mechanical and electrical equipment of units and auxiliary consumption units, as well as reconstruction of civil structures – dam monitoring system and rehabilitation of dam injection curtains.

In 2018, EPCG signed the Contract in the value of 10.311.029,60 € with JV Litostroj Power from Slovenia and ABB from Italy for reconstruction of hydro-mechanical and electrical equipment and auxiliary consumption system. The contract was awarded according to the conducted public international tender procedure, in line with the applied procurement procedures of KfW bank. Activities on reconstruction and modernization of electrical-mechanical equipment of Unit A2 and main switchgear 0,4kV of the plant have been carried out so far, as well as erection and commissioning of electrical equipment for 35kV and 10kV switchgears. Works on reconstruction of unit A3, performed according to the defined time schedule, are currently in progress and they are planned to be completed by December 15, 2021.

For the needs of financing the project Reconstruction and Modernization of HPP Perućica - Phase II within ‘Greening Public Infrastructure FC Project’, EPCG signed the loan arrangement on September 18, 2019 (Loan Agreement and Separate Agreement to the Loan Agreement) with KfW bank in the value of 33.000.000,00 €.

Bids opening within tender procedure for reconstruction and modernization of hydro-mechanical and electrical equipment of units A5, A6 and A7, hydro-mechanical equipment of valve chambers, equipment for hydro-hydraulic measurements, installation of integral information system at the plant level is envisaged for November 3, 2021.

With reference to the Project of Unit A8 installation and increase in capacity of HPP Perućica by 58,5 MW, Elektroprivreda Crne Gore, in cooperation with KfW bank, initiated tender procedure for selection of consultancy company for contracting development of project and tender documents for installation of electrical- mechanical equipment of unit 8 and performance of civil works on conveyance and outfall system, whose opening is planned for November 2.  Total value of the project of Unit A8 installation is estimated at about 24 million €.
