THE BRITISH AMBASSADOR VISITED TPP PLJEVLJA

The British Ambassador to Montenegro H.E. Ms. Karen Maddocks, visited TPP Pljevlja on Thursday November 11, 2021. At this occasion she met with Mr. Nikola Rovčanin, the Chief Executive Officer of EPCG.

Mr. Nikola Rovčanin, the EPCG CEO, briefed the Ambassador Maddocks about the status of the Company, highlighting the development of green transition projects and necessity to maintain operation of TPP Pljevlja, which undoubtedly stands as a plant of the highest importance up until construction of adequate replacement capacities and enables both the unhindered operation of the energy system and socio-economic stability in the Municipality of Pljevlja. To that end, the projects on Eco-reconstruction of TPP Pljevlja, distant heating of town, construction of SHPP ‘Otilovići’ and a Batch plant are of significant importance to this Municipality.

 

The British Ambassador to Montenegro, H.E. Caren Maddocks was pleased to hear that EPCG has had a developed vision regarding the green energy transition and considers other factors such as local labour market and energy independency.

 

The collocutors found that Montenegro has a significant capacity in terms of RES use as well as that we have a decade ahead of us for implementation of all EPCG development projects whereby our company and the State would reach a point of efficient improvement in energy and economy status while fully respecting the international standards.

 

The Meeting was also attended by Ms. Bilsana Bibić, PA to HMA and DHM, Ms. Dubravka Popović, Advisor on conflicts, stabilization and security Programme, Mr. Jovan Radošević, member of EPCG BoD, Mr. Mirko Mazalica, Director of TPP Pljevlja, Mr. Veselin Sekulić, Assistant to the Executive manager of FU Generation and Mr. Tomaš Damjanović, the EPCG CEO’s Associate Media Specialist.
