EPCG supported action of book collecting in Podgorica

In early June, non-formal organization KF initiated the action of collecting fictional books, rare and important textbooks and expert literature entitled “Book – Road to Heart – KF”.

Among the goals of this EPCG-supported project is enrichment of the book fund, which is to provide the young with a simple and easy access to textbooks, scientific documents, expert literature of different scientific schools and fiction books, aimed at fostering culture and culture of reading.

The project idea, which was planted by students of the Secondary School of Electrical Engineering from Podgorica, Nikola Pejović, Marko Vuković and Faruk Kosuta, gathered cca 2,300 students, activists, volunteers and citizens, as well as organisations and enterprises. The total of 500 books was collected for libraries of the Secondary School of Electrical Engineering “Vaso Aligrudić”, Secondary School of Chemical and Technical Engineering “Spasoje Raspopović” and the Secondary School of Civil Engineering “Eng. Marko Radević”.

For each donated book, the participants were given a lottery ticket. The luckiest won valuable prizes including a day-long visit to hydropower plant Perućica for one class, day-long visit to the Hydro- Meteorological Institute of Montenegro, two tablets given by the Congress Travel Agency and free hairdressing services for one month provided by the SCTE “Spasoje Raspopović”. 

 

Novak Rašović who donated as many as 63 books to his peers won a special prize. Aleksandar Vlahović, who contributed with 38 books and won a tablet computer, proves the old saying that the effort pays off. The project will last until July 29.
