EPCG AND THE FACULTY OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING SIGNED THE MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION

The Memorandum of Cooperation between the Montenegrin national electric power company and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering for the academic year 2019/2020 has been signed by Igor Noveljić, the Chief Executive Officer of Elektroprivreda Crne Gore and prof. Saša Mujović, PhD, the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

The Memorandum has envisaged knowhow exchange, i.e. exchange of research, teaching and professional staff, as well as joint activities carried out in scientific and professional areas, i.e. areas of joint interest, in order to acquire new experience and knowledge and make new achievements.

Igor Noveljić, CEO of EPCG, has pointed out that the national electric power company shall finance the scholarship for the Master Program for one assistant employed at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, as well as the scholarship for one student of the Master Program, who accomplished the best cumulative grade point average during their Bachelor’s and Specialist Studies and who enrolled the Master Studies in the academic year 2019/2020.

‘The Faculty of Electrical Engineering is well-known for the quality of its staff, as recognized by EPCG, which is why we pay full attention to development of young talents, and this is only continuation of our good cooperation. Elektroprivreda relies on the staff from the University of Montenegro; as far as the Faculty of Electrical Engineering is concerned, Elektroprivreda will award €500 to one student having the best cumulative grade point average during their Bachelor’s Studies, to one student from each specialist study implemented at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, providing they enrolled the Specialist Studies in the academic year 2019/2020’, said Noveljić. He said this is only one of cooperation modalities which will be improved in the future, to the mutual benefit.

According to prof. Saša Mujović, PhD, the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering: ‘It is my great pleasure to sign the Memorandum with the most important Montenegrin company. We are happy that the national company is ready to invest in science and future generations. Cooperation between EPCG and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering is absolutely natural, because it is EPCG which is one of the founders of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, thereby first professors at the faculty were from EPCG. Students and the state of Montenegro will benefit most from the synergy of science and economy. This is a good direction to follow, and all our capacities stay at disposal of Elektroprivreda. I think this modality of cooperation is a win-win for students, the faculty, EPCG and the state.’

The ceremony of signing the Memorandum was also attended by prof. Danilo Nikolić, PhD, the Rector of the University of Montenegro and Duško Bjelica, the Chairman of the Board of the University of Montenegro.

The Memorandum of Cooperation signed by EPCG and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering also implies joint organization of scientific and professional meetings aimed at improving science and practice, as well as joint participation in scientific and research projects that are mutually interesting, other forms of cooperation that are not included in the signed document, such as study visits to be paid to EPCG generating plants, participation of EPCG experts in round tables organized by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, presentation of current projects, etc.
