Prize for humanity, responsible and honest relation

Prize for humanity, responsible and honest relation

The Institute for Blood Transfusion of Montenegro and the Office of the World Health Organization in Montenegro gave our Company credit for its corporate social responsibility and its contribution to promotion of a voluntary blood donation. The prize has certified that the Voluntary Blood Donors Club of the Electric Power Utility of Montenegro confirmed its important role in continuous providing of lifeblood throughout 2014, the most noble and indispensable medicine.

Mitar Vučković, the president of the Voluntary Blood Donors Club of the Electric Power Utility of Montenegro received the prize on behalf of the Company and emphasized the following:

- It is a great honour and pleasure to be with companies which recognize the importance of voluntary blood donation as one of the most explicit forms of corporate social responsibility. Being responsible to people and people's health is not only the matter of good will but also the obligation arising from what we call human in ourselves. The Electric Power Company of Montenegro is the company which pays particular attention to corporate social responsibility, what is one of its business principles, and I am sure it will continue. This valuable recognition is a truly nice satisfaction for more than 200 voluntary blood donors of our Club, as well as for our supporting members, but also confirmation of the understanding we have in our Company. I believe this will be revealed in the period to come.

Gordana Rašović, Prim. Dr., head of the Institute for Blood Transfusion of Montenegro said that the Electric Power Company of Montenegro is one of the leading companies in our country as far as voluntary blood donation is concerned.

- The Electric Power Company of Montenegro has been long recognized as extraordinary, long-year and honest partner of the Department for Blood Transfusion of Montenegro. It is the company with rich tradition and extremely well organized voluntary blood donation and it can boast about huge contribution both to the Department for Blood Transfusion as well as to the entire Montenegrin health care system – said Gordana Rašović, Prim. Dr.

In addition to the Electric Power Utility of Montenegro, another 16 Montenegrin companies were awarded in the Porto Montenegro Yacht Club. Mina Brajović, head of the Office of the World Health Organisation in Montenegro, is very pleased 'to have substantial number of companies in such a small country of Montenegro with corporate social responsibility, in addition to their economic mission'.

- By promoting the Voluntary Blood Donors Club, you promote health and support quality of living, thus being the example as to how to cherish social solidarity. You're sending a clear message by your active social involvement: it is good to work well. Therefore, today's awards are not only awards for the Voluntary Blood Donors Club, because the real, priceless recognition comes from inside, in form of a feeling of fulfilment and satisfaction. By voluntary blood donation you saved someone's life, but also confirmed to yourselves that you have the most valuable what makes a man civilized-empathy for another person and responsibility for a society – said Brajović.

There were nine actions of a voluntary blood donation organized throughout 2014 by the Voluntary Blood Donors Club in several Montenegrin towns. Voluntary blood donors have always responded in a satisfactory manner, and around 350 blood units were collected in total. The Club hopes to be joined by additional voluntary donors in 2015, as well as to increase the number of supporting members thanks to whose voluntary contribution they achieve programme objectives.
