Safety rules for using electrical appliances

We hereby present 12 rules for safe use of electrical appliances:

EARTHING AND DIFFERENTIAL CIRCUIT BREAKER "FUSE"

Both of them are necessary: earthing conducts a fault current into the ground, while the fuse guarantees safety even in case of minor dissipation.

DO NOT PRETEND TO BE AN ELECTRICIAN

Consult the experts for control of installations and repair of electrical appliances.

SOCKETS

One appliance per each socket; overload causes heating which not only damages the appliance but can be a source of danger.

ELECTRICITY IN BATHROOM

Caution: Do not use and do not position the devices connected to the power supply near open taps or near a bathtub or shower. Install the socket with integrated fuse. In such a way, safety will be increased.

BEING WET

Electrical devices should be handled with dry hands and feet and direct contact with the floor and walls should be avoided.

SAFE IRONING

Never barefoot and with wet hands; also, check the validity of cables.

MAIN SWITCH

Turn it off even when changing average light bulb. Namely, switch on the lamp/chandelier itself does not guarantee sufficient safety.

EXTENSION CORDS

Use them only temporarily: after use, first plug off the extension cord from the socket. Note: Before use, first fully roll out the cable if it is wound around a spool.

PLUGS & SOCKETS

Do not pull the cord. Always turn off the appliance first and then pull the plug out of socket. In that way, your electrical appliance will remain in a good condition and possible short circuit will be avoided.

STEAM IRON

Do not fill iron with water while it is plugged in the socket.

CABLES AND EXTENSION CORDS

Always keep in a perfect condition. Do not wrap cable around hot iron or any other electrical device.

SAFETY SOCKETS

They prevent metal objects from being inserted into the sockets. Safety sockets are installed in new installations. Their installation is recommended because of children’s safety.
