Improved energetic system and customer service

On August 19, 1910, the Montenegrin sovereign Nikola I announced beginning of operation of the first power plant for public purposes in the capital of Cetinje, after which Cetinje got electricity lighting, even significantly earlier than much more developed European countries at the time. The date of this remarkable event is celebrated as the Day of EPCG.

Electric Power Industry of Montenegro, celebrated 103rd birthday in an atmosphere of exceptional production results from the end of last year and early this year, several new distribution substations that have contributed to more stable and quality supply of electricity customers and significantly improved metering of consumed energy.

The first half of this year was marked by daily and monthly production records of hydropower facilities. So HPP "Perućica" in March achieved an absolute record, and in April the monthly record since it was built. HPP "Piva" on March 27th achieved a maximum daily production of 8,155 MWh. TPP “Pljevlja” also contributed. It all comes to great driving readiness of our power plants. Otherwise, in the first half of 2013, EPCG produced 2,281.8 GWh, 41.4% more than planned.

We are extremely proud of the fact that between two birthdays of the Company we managed to connect on the network several newly built substation 35/10 kV "Škaljari" in Kotor, "Podgorica 5", "Rozino" in Budva, and recently a new substation in Danilovgrad. We thereby increased capacity and enabled the connection of new customers to the distribution network, improved technical standards and improved the voltage profile, reduced losses, and increased the reliability and security of supply and reduced the time of a volt-free status for customers.

To remind, the electricity in Montenegro is distributed through the 4573 sub-stations of different voltage transformer (110/10 kV, 35/10 kV, 10/0, 4 kV) and different strengths, and more than 20.000 kilometers of aerial cable lines of different voltage , which is directly connected with most of our customers.

We can be proud of the fact that the system of measurement of energy consumed in distribution Montenegro is significantly innovated. At close to 120,000 measurement points were installed electronic meters of the last generation, of which over 69,000 new meters installed in the central region, 40,000 in the south and over 12,000 in the north of the country.

Montenegrin Electric has about 360,000 customers, of which one-third are members of the GOLDEN TEAM and achieve significant benefits on the basis of regular meet its obligations for the electricity consumed. In this context, we focused on improving customer service and relationships with our customers, and in addition to a number of new services, we opened new information and billing counter at Delta City in Podgorica.

Where there is investment, there is a development that contributes to a better quality of life, so the EPCG in the future will seek to improve energy systems to respond to the demands of customers and provide an even better and more modern services.
