EPCG TRADE UNION: 'We operate in public not private interest and our duty is to protect EPCG's stability and employees'

As for the announcement the KAP employees made on Wednesday December 1 this year, the Trade Union Organisation of EPCG finds it necessary to inform the public on the following:

The Trade Union Organisation of EPCG employees, being a representative trade union organisation in EPCG AD Nikšić, with 1000 members, fully supports proposals of the Company's BoD and the Chief Executive Officer in the part that relates to negotiations with UNIPROM. We find the arguments, which prove the existing price of electricity delivery is harmless to operation of the state-owned EPCG as the greatest among Montenegrin business entities, as founded. Thereby, we find EPCG management attempts to set up a completely different and, we would say, more just relation of electricity price between EPCG-UNIPROM as fully reasonable.

Otherwise, should we continue delivering the electricity to UNIPROM at the present price, in 2022, we would have reached a paramount loss – even 60 million of euro, which is absolutely unacceptable from the point of view of EPCG and its employees as well as the overall energy stability of Montenegro.

We understand what fear the KAP employees experience in terms of their labour related status, but we find EPCG bears no responsibility whatsoever difficulties UNIPROM experiences. Anyway we wish our colleagues every success in their personal and business life, yet we find inappropriate of them to address us the blame for problems we haven't caused.
