Record breaking consumption in July

Due to extremely high, tropical temperatures, record monthly and daily consumption of electricity during the summer has been registered in the past month. The volume of 243,5 million kWh has been consumed in July (distributive consumption), which accounts for almost 19% increase as compared to July 2014 ( 205 million kWh) and almost 5% more as compared to July 2012, which held primacy over the record monthly consumption for the summer period.

Record daily electricity consumption during summer, in Montenegro, was achieved on Wednesday July 22, amounting to 9.3 million kWh, which is by astounding 40% more than the average consumption realised in the month of July over the course of 2006-2014.

The greatest daily consumption registered in July is close to the all-time greatest consumption registered in Montenegro, which was recorded on December 31 last year (10.5 million kWh). The coastal municipalities are the greatest consumers, having consumed the record 108 million kWh over the past month, which is almost half of the total distributive consumption in Montenegro.

Households consumed 115,193,235 kWh (kilowatt hours) of electricity in July, which is 35.6 % more as compared to June consumption and 18% more as compared to consumption reached in July 2014.

The significant increase in electricity consumption affected the outcome of July electricity bills for households, which in the average amounted to €38.51 (excluding non-read metering points in the buildings, which are not permanently resided).

Households in Mojkovac record the lowest average consumption of €23.8, while Ulcinj Municipality recorded the highest consumption during the past month, where households’ consumption has reached the value of €61 on average.

Bill exceeding the amount of €150 will be delivered to 1.5% of customers (5,243 from the category of households), while bills worth from €100 to €150 have been registered at 2.4% of customers (8,420 from the household category).

July bills reduced by the amount of discount for regular payers will be delivered to as many as 152,639 customers in Montenegro.
